Almost half of UK professionals are planning to go to the office less due to record petrol prices, according to research released today.
CV-Library, one of the UK’s independent job boards, surveyed more than 3,000 people and claim 42% of white collar workers plan to work from home purely because of recent fuel hikes.
The news comes as the price at the pumps reaches record levels – which is also being compounded by the fact energy bills are reported to be rising 14 times faster than wages this year.
The research is also significant as it comes less than a month after the Government lifted restrictions in the UK and workers were told to go back to work, prompting hope from many employers that office life was about to return to some kind of normality.
